As well as producing books we also develop and maintain websites for publishers and authors. We’re passionate about empowering authors (and publishing staff) to manage their own online presence so we offer one-to-one trainings, group sessions and courses on every aspect of web development and social media. We’ve also created our own code base specifically for author websites and this allows us to develop fabulous new websites in just a few days. We believe in getting you up and running fast, using flexible and intuitive tools, so that your website can evolve with you.

Our team of publishers, editors and web developers are skilled at creating quick, high-quality websites with strong messages and lots of interesting content. These sites are particularly suited to mini-sites for new book titles that publishers need produced in a hurry. We design and build WordPress sites in 3-4 days and then hand the admin over to you to maintain, develop and add more great content.

Is that ‘great author’ websites or great ‘author websites’? Both! Our websites for authors are developed by publishing people for publishing people. We design the look of every site individually while the underlying structure is based on our own carefully crafted template that we have developed specifically to respond to the needs of authors and publishers. Our user-friendly template allows you to add books, link to websites where readers can purchase your books, link to your agent and publisher, feed news from your Twitter, Facebook and YouTube accounts and many more excellent features.
one-to-one Web Surgeries
Need a new website? Baffled by social media? Want to create a blog? Come along to one of our one-to-one sessions and we’ll tackle your web conundrums on the spot. We can even set you up with a blog there and then and if it’s a new website you need we’ll give you some great, impartial advice on how to get up and running. These sessions run regularly throughout the year so please email Kristen directly to register your interest.
Ongoing maintenance
In addition to building your website, or helping you to build you own site, we have experienced web editors who can manage your website on an ongoing basis. They will develop exciting content (text, images and multimedia), edit and update your website and they can even do your social networking (Twitter, Facebook and so on) on your behalf. We suggest a minimum of 1 day per month per website.
We also manage websites for publishers and some businesses and organisations and work with internal editorial and marketing teams to ensure our work is fully coordinated with any related campaigns or events.
FEEs
Web design and development: £35/hr or £250/day
Web editing and updating: £30/hr or £220/day
1.5 hr, one-to-one web surgery: £90
1hr, one-to-one web surgery: £60 (£55 for SoA members)
1hr, Skype web surgery: £45
